Jenna Lyons has disclosed personal info about herself in the name of J.Crew style guiding, as she is wont to do. This time, she's talking shoes. We consider her an expert because (a) as she says, "I have far too many shoes. I think I have 289 pair, I believe. And some of them I actually realize I haven't worn. But I like to look at them." And (b) she has her own language for them. She calls shoes that don't make it past her J.Crew editing "Ugly Dollies" and the winners "Shiny Ponies." So that's a thing. Also, "Shoes are like fairies."
Hop over the jump for more Jenna-isms as well as a walk through her shoe closet.
"These I like because as far as I'm concerned leopard is a neutral."
"These are sort of traffic stopping, and I've actually been known to frighten a dog."
"Anyone who thinks your shoe isn't informative about who you are is making a mistake. You know, a five inch stiletto sends a very different message than a beaten-up [indistinct.]
"These are for after a week of five inch heels. I can run after my son. "
"These are business in the front, party in the back."
