Comedy writer Bonnie Datt once bought a chainmail vest "for clubbing"—a purchase she later came to lament, once she realized that chainmail wasn't particularly slimming. Inspired by this, she now spends her spare time asking famous people to dish about purchases which they initially loved—but ended up regretting, for Buyer's Remorse.

Carol Kane as the alcoholic mother of Adam's new girlfriend on Girls

Hilarious actress Carol Kane resurfaced this season as the matchmaking alcoholic mother of Adam's new girlfriend on Girls—so we figured it was the perfect time to share her Buyer's Remorse story. Carol, can tell us about an item you regret purchasing?

"I fall prey to the fact that when I go shopping with a girlfriend and she looks good in a certain thing, I'll take it on as though that were my style also. Then I'll get it home and think, 'What the hell am I thinking? This doesn't resemble anything I would ever wear.'

My friend Teri Garr and I went to Paris and she was able to wear these little cute sweaters and skirts that were very modern and light colors and I only wear black, so for me to be wearing these things is insane. But every time I shop with Teri, I do buy them."
