Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Today's pick comes from Racked's editorial director Izzy Grinspan.
I'm always looking for jewelry that costs under $100 and isn't from a chain store, so when small-batch site Of a Kind launched Iacoli & McAllister's brass-and-ultra-suede necklace for $88, I jumped on it. It's a statement piece without being a Statement Piece: two long loops of peach-colored cords struck with geometric beads, some in springy colors like mint and biege. Iacoli & McAllister are Seattle-based furniture makers (Of a Kind informs us that they bonded over "their joint love of welding") and there's something nicely industrial about the materials they used, but I also love that it's basically a sophisticated version of a little kid's macaroni necklace.
