"I'm afraid to see myself!" Tracy Reese confessed to a small crowd of friends and bloggers gathered in her Manhattan flagship store last night to watch a sneak preview of tonight's episode of Project Runway, where Reese will debut as a guest judge. Fortunately, she's got nothing to fear. She was one of the show's better guest judges, giving insightful critiques and sharing one of the best lines of the night.
The episode is this season's HP/Intel challenge—the fun one where the contestants get to design their own fabrics. We can't leak what happens, but we will say that every garment makes a dramatic statement—and not necessarily in a good way.
Tracy, who was such a warm and friendly host that she made all of her party guests feel like we'd known her forever, said that contrary to stories we'd heard about other episodes, the judging process went fairly quickly. They were done by 6:00pm and almost everything that was said made it into the final edit.
But even though their decisions were made quickly, Tracy felt that her input was taken seriously by the show's regular judges. She liked the way they all worked together, explaining, "Each judge had their own perspective and good advice, but we all had different things to say."
Be sure to check out tonight's episode of Project Runway. It's one of our favorites of the season.
