Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
The excitement over Pope Francis's impending footwear is papal-ble (can you tell that we worked hard on that one?). According to the NOWNESS photographer sent to investigate the situation, "The new papacy is all about humility, so [papal cobbler Adriano] Stefanelli said they are most likely to be black," rather than the traditional and kind of flashy red loafers. Still, nothing is for sure yet since the order hasn't come in yet. Popefully we will be put out of our misery soon. [NOWNESS]
