Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We're submitting "What Ali Wore" as your new favorite style blog (Or at least as a heart-warming Friday send-off.) Zoe Spawton, an ex-pat photographer living in Germany, explains how the happy accident of a blog came about:

Ali walks past the cafe I work at in Berlin every morning at 9:05am. I'm not sure where he is going, but we always say hello to each other. He always wears such great clothes. I don't speak much German and he speaks a little bit of English, but I managed to ask if I could take his photo. He gladly accepted.
Very gladly. It looks like the two struck up a friendship despite the language barrier (they go apple picking!) and his outfits just keep getting better. Some of our favorite looks include all over camo, denim on denim on denim, the five-piece suit, tie and chain, and double breasted everything. Fun facts about him include that he's a retired doctor who now works as a tailor and he has 18 children. Spawton did mention that her German is broken so it's possible those stats are entirely untrue. Regardless. The pictures.
