A survey taken over 2012's holiday shopping season suggests that rarely do people save over $200 by testing/trying-on in the brick-and-mortar then shopping for deals online—a.k.a. showrooming—but most save up to $50. This supports the saying that discount-savvy shoppers have been muttering forever, "savings is savings, chumps." We'll give you one guess as to where consumers are taking their business.
That's right. Amazon by a whopping 57% as opposed to the 5% total showrooming at eBay or Wal-Mart.com. According to online price-comparison site GetInvisiblehand.com, that's because about 75% of products are cheaper on Amazon. Nobody freak out.
