Reed Krakoff will be stepping down as president and executive creative director of Coach Inc. in order to focus exclusively on his namesake brand, WWD reports.
Krakoff has been at the post for more than 16 years, and is responsible for Coach's expansion from handbag brand to a global lifestyle powerhouse that now includes shoes and ready-to-wear (as well as this questionable collaboration with Frye).
"His contribution in evolving Coach from a house of American leather goods to a leading international accessories brand is immeasurable and we have great admiration and respect for Reed's significant accomplishments," Coach CEO Lew Frankfort told WWD. Krakoff will remain with Coach until June 2014. Coach says they're already looking for his successor.
