British period soap Downton Abbey has inspired designers from Ralph Lauren to Marc Jacobs, but now the show's executive producer Gareth Neame confirms that there is a Downton branded apparel, beauty, and home goods collection in our future.
In an interview with CNBC, he explains, "We'll be working across an entire range of products coming out this year. From fashion, apparel, and homeware and furniture to wallpapers, beauty products, and stationary." There's no release date as of yet, but Vanity Fair reports that a contract with Knockout Licensing, who will create the consumer merchandise, went into effect last summer. If there is any justice in this world, the line will surely include a capsule of batshit crazy headgear inspired by Shirley MacLaine's character in Season Three.
