Steven Alan Takes a Page from Warby Parker for New Optical Line

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Steven Alan, the king of rustic Americana, has launched an optical line that includes sunglasses, prescription glasses, and prescription sunglasses. (Perfectly timed for sunny seasons!) The collection has its own landing page,, where you'll find men's and women's frames in every color and several shades under the sun, priced $145 for nonprescription and $245 for prescription shades, and $195 for optical frames.

Ordering the goods works a lot like the other eyewear brand we know and love, Warby Parker, though it's about a hundred dollars more a pop. Basically, you can have six pairs sent to you, and shipping and returns are totally free. Also, they have style suggestions for face shape and width. Get your facewear on, effective immediately.
