Last night, we joined Dmitry Sholokhov, the dashing winner of Project Runway's Tenth Season, for the debut of his Lord & Taylor collection at the chain's Fifth Avenue flagship. Surrounded by mannequins dressed in cocktail and evening wear, Dmitry told us about his eight piece collection:
"The inspiration was my final collection for Project Runway, so I wanted to use my signature elements: the cut outs, the sheer paneling and the silhouettes that people loved. And I wanted to create something that every woman can afford."
Prices range between $259 and $329, although if you'd like more expensive Dmitry designs, and you happen to be planning a trip to Moscow in the near future, the designer is also debuting a more expensive and extensive collection there for the European market.
Dmitry says that his new found international recognition has been the most surreal part of winning Project Runway: "In the past three months I've been in seven countries and every country I go to, I get recognized. I never expected that."
Although Lord & Taylor's Manhattan flaghship is the only brick and mortar store stocking Dmitry's designs, the whole collection will be available today on the store's website.
