5 Hot Sunglasses To Steal from 'The Bling Ring'

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Still from The Bling Ring

Between October 2008 and August 2009, a gang of fame-obsessed teenagers methodically (and in same instances, repeatedly) robbed the Hollywood Hills homes of stars such as Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Lindsey Lohan, Audrina Patridge, Brian Austin-Green and Rachel Bilson. If you were a dedicated Pretty Wild viewer in 2010, you got to see alleged participant Alexis Neiers get arrested and charged for her crimes almost in real time (that was fun).

Anyway, on June 14, director Sofia Coppola brings the thieves' titillating story to life in The Bling Ring, which stars Emma Watson as a character inspired by Neiers. The film's promotional poster shows nothing more than the sunglasses belonging to each of the five ring members. Mysterious. But since it's sunglass season anyway, we decided to comb Vint & York's vintage-inspired eyeglass collection for Bling Ring-inspired shades of our own. After the jump, we show you how to steal each Bling Ring member's own favorite looks right out from underneath them. Though, since all of Vint & York's frames are always $109, including Rx lenses, no actual thievery is really necessary.—Alison Freer

The Right-Hand Man:
Every girl wants her right hand man to be dapper! Lime green and navy work in concert to make the Dapper frame live up to its name.

The Mastermind:
The Ritzy frame is exactly what every cool, calm, collected criminal mastermind should plan to wear on her way into court.

The Lookout:
A pair of Great Escape frames turns the lookout into a standout when done up in black crystal ombre.

The Wild Card:
Keep 'em guessing with the hard to categorize Swanky frame. A true wild card never shows her stripes.

The Star:??????
One could easily see Miss Neiers herself rocking the It frame. A star is born, indeed.
