The 'Most Creative' People in the Business of Fashion

Fast Company published its list of 100 Most Creative People in Business 2013, including everyone from television actors and hosts, architects and urban planners, and authors, plus a few fashionable names you might recognize. No designers make the list, and, shockingly, fashion-and-business listicle favorites Burberry's Christopher Bailey, Tory Burch, and J.Crew's Jenna Lyons are no where to be found. But who did make it? Anyone doing digital right, apparently, and the occasionally eco-conscious company. Check it out below.

17. Michelle Peluso, Gilt Groupe's new CEO: Number one in fashion, 17 out of 100 in general, Peluso gets the nod for bringing tons of experience in digital savviness to Gilt's table: "There are so many opportunities on the horizon," she told Fast Company, "from mobile exclusives to geo-located offers to better filtering and searching. We've only scratched the surface of what's possible with personalization."

23. Art Peck, Gap's President of Growth, Innovation, and Digital: We assume Peck snagged number 23 thanks entirely to the sweet job title. Jokes. It's what he's done with it. He's most proud of his "in-house social media platform" that draws on the brand's so-called "t-shirt" folders—a.k.a. employees—for opinions, "virtual pizzazz" in store, and buying Intermix.

40. Kate Phelan and Justin Cooke, Topshop's Creative Director and CMO, respectively: For the brand's "clever tricks" with digital imagery.

69. Emily Sugihara, Baggu founder: For making items people really, actually need and putting them on sale at Urban Outfitters.

92. Leandra Medine, The Man Repeller blog: For being relatable.

97. Stephanie Horbaczewski, President and CEO of Stylehaul: By allowing 16 to 24-year-olds create their own beauty vlogging content then giving them access to the company's data. "It's mind-blowing when you realize 16-to 24-year-olds are processing analytics," she told Fast Company.
