Pardon the Gwyneth Paltrow overload today, but the goop newsletter is dedicated the Met Ball, which, as you know, was completely un-fun. Why? Sponsors, naturally. SSENSE has rounded up its punk picks for Paltrow's online life bible that also judges you lifestyle blog. But still, it seems odd she wouldn't address the internet schism she created when poo-pooed fashion's night of glory...not to mention it was eons ago in fashion news time. Check out the curious things Gwyneth did have to say below.
Not a word about the un-fun-ness of it all:
The Met Ball, at NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Art, is always the year's most elaborate display of incredible fashion and this year was no different. The theme was 'Punk: Chaos to Couture' and when the house of Valentino's Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri asked me to join them, I was thrilled to see what they would create with my right fashion hand, Elizabeth Saltzman. If you want to read about everything she went through to get ready (you do) from the dress choice to fittings to the hair to the styling choices, head here. Hopefully it'll be a way more fun, and far less furious and sweaty, venture. We got all inspired in the goop office about punk making a comeback through subtle influence and thus, we asked one of my absolute favorite websites, the most excellently curated SSENSE, to show us how we could work it into our spring/summer wardrobes.
