Tamara Mellon, who made Jimmy Choo (the London bespoke shoemaker) into Jimmy Choo (the global brand), is, judging by her Twitter, preparing to launch a footwear company of her own. Mellon sold her stake in Jimmy Choo in 2011 for more than $800 million, and rumors that she was going to start a line started flying almost immediately. but a two-year non-compete agreement barred her from having anything to do with the footwear business. That agreement expired in February. Now Mellon has been Tweeting stuff like this:

Tory Burch and Tommy Hilfiger are said to be among the investors in Mellon's new company, which has reportedly raised over £16 million in investment capital. Stores are planned for London, Los Angeles, New York. Brazil, Hong Kong, Qatar and Singapore. Mellon's line is believed to be launching under her own name.
