Rooney Mara has also joined the beauty campaign ranks as the model for Calvin Klein's upcoming summer fragrance Downtown. This is Mara's first major campaign, but she should be pretty comfortable since the TV ads are directed by David Fincher, who she also worked with on Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. [Telegraph]
· And because apparently every brand has a new face today, Cate Blanchett has been named the new face of Giorgio Armani Parfums. Blanchett, who has been wearing Armani on the red carpet for years, will front the brand's new "Si" eau de parfum set to hit shelves this summer. [WWD]
· Since a sepia filter won't always do the trick, new data from the American Academy of Facial and Reconstructive Surgery reports that social media accounted for a 31 percent uptick in plastic surgery requests this year – naming rhinoplasty, Botox, and facelifts as the most popular requests. [Time]
· As the exclusive beauty partner for the film, Covergirl is launching a Hunger Games themed Capitol Collection based on looks from the movie. · Minnie Mouse is getting her second OPI line this summer, Couture de Minnie Runway, and it's full of this seasons' textured and sparkly styles. The five-color line will include a range of red and pinks hues, including Magazine Cover Mouse ( a strawberry with a "liquid sand" finish) and Minnie Style (a clear top coat with chunked pink and red glitter). · Toronto-based Bite Beauty has opened it's first pop-up shop in Soho, and it's basically a choose-your-own-adventure of beauty. Shoppers will be able to mix their own lip colors, add their own scents like superfruit or lavender and watch as their color creation comes to life in a five-minute heating and cooling process. Here's hoping a customization station opens up on their e-comm site. [Racked NY]
