Comedy writer Bonnie Datt once bought a chainmail vest "for clubbing"—a purchase she later came to lament, once she realized that chainmail wasn't particularly slimming. Inspired by this, she now spends her spare time asking famous people to dish about purchases which they initially loved—but ended up regretting, for Buyer's Remorse.

The legendary Gordon Espinet is MAC's head make-up artist, although his official title is "Senior Vice President of Global Artist Training, Development and Makeup Artistry." One of MAC's earliest employees, Espinet was key in developing the brand's renegade attitude, and even today tries to make sure the company remains innovative and unique. Ironically, the make-up expert's Buyer's Remorse involved pairing the wrong colors with his own skin tone.
In 1984 or '85 I went out with a friend and bought all of this neon colored stuff—neon green and orange—all the colors. I bought sweaters and shirts and I got it home and put it on and went, "I'm neon already [his skin color] so when I put it on I look like a light bulb." So for years I never wore it.
