Here Are Moda Operandi's Met Ball Outfit Suggestions

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This year's Met Ball attendees might have no clue what to wear, but nobody freak out: Moda Operandi's punk shop is live and the items ship today. The trunk show e-tailer, who—as you might have heard—is underwriting "Punk: Chaos to Couture," partnered with Givenchy, Balmain, Prabal Gurung, Thom Browne, and Vivienne Westwood, among others, for a 100-piece collection of one-of-a-kind fashion items, rare vintage, and art objects (there's a $2,000 paper-weight involved). For a tutorial in how to err on the side of couture chaos, see above. And somebody please wear a bag over their head on Monday...but only if it's Givenchy.
