Here's a refreshing anecdote to the multitude of pre-summer ads and editorials telling you to get your "bikini body" ready for summer: Style blog Style Like U has wrapped up their inspiring body-themed month with an equally inspiring video. Featuring four stylish women with completely different body types, the short film makes the case for why your real body—not the bikini body of your dreams—is a very good place to be.
We asked each of the women—bijules jewelry designer Jules Kim, 75-year-old Beatrix Ost, blogger/designer Nadia Aboulhosn, and apparel designer Dynasty—their advice for dressing for your body. Here's what they had to say
Jules Kim: "Body type doesn't have to dictate your look, it just needs to define your comfort. I have a super long torso so i am not going to wear a jumpsuit that is too short or my comfort is lost! And it looks forced. I hate to see women forcing their bodies into a look that doesn't not fit their body or their comfort."
Beatrix Ost: "Feel comfortable and emphasize what is attractive."
Nadia Aboulhosn: "My style is unconventional and I like to wear whatever I want regardless of people's opinions. I think the most important thing to focus on while dressing yourself is how what your wearing makes you feel. I don't like putting rules to certain body types because you can pull anything off if you have the confidence for it. I say dress accordingly to your feelings and emotions."
Dynasty:" Know your body type! It's important to know what suits your body type. What compliments your shape. You should always look to find pieces that suits you and your mood. One important thing to consider while getting dressed is attitude! Always remember that you make the clothes, don't let it make you."
