Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The legendary abs of Abercrombie & Fitch would be nothing, really, without the brand's perfectly sagged jeans. High enough to cover the butt but low enough to reveal that sexy hip indent thing, the art of the sag has been perfected by Abercrombie associates over the years. And now, the secrets to the perfect jean shirtless jean placement have been revealed, as Buzzfeed has stumbled upon an internal spring 2013 employee "style guide" that demonstrates just how to hit the right placement.

Showing your boxers is so street.

There's also something called a perfect cuff in this world, and it's name is the 1.25 incher.

The A&F moose should show on your belt. But not on your boxers. (Because, as we've established, only hoodlums show their boxers.)

This, of course, is the result.

Buzzfeed also has the instructions for scrunching sleeves (new for summer!) and rolling lady jeans. Head there to see that, or revisit last summer's "Call Me Maybe" lipdub video for more Abercrombie shirtless goodness.
