Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It's no secret that last night's Met Gala's Punk: Chaos to Couture red carpet wasn't punk enough for the thousands of punk connoisseurs across America, but that doesn't mean that it had nothing to offer. Madonna's Pants
She forgot to wear them.

So. Many. Sweet. Ear cuffs.

Giovanna Battaglia's rad safety-pin crown was...rad. But not as rad as...

Sarah Jessica Parker's Faux-Hawk
And SJP won the Met Ball with the most incredible, beautiful mohawk in the world, ever, hands down, forever.

But then Beyoncé showed up in a long train by Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci and everyone forgot about SJP.
