The North American retail and brand alliance, which is headed up by Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Gap Inc. and includes retailers like J.Crew, Saks, and Macy's, has outlined five goals for its fire and building safety accord in Bangladesh. According to WWD, they are the following: "developing a plan for worker training and empowerment; creating fire and building safety assessment standards; sharing factory inspections and training information; establishing governance for the alliance, and funding."
