Forget private fittings at Vera Wang and get your bridesmaids to the mall ASAP. Among the giant pretzels and sunglass kiosks are a few surprising stops every bride should consider when choosing a bridesmaid dress. From Target to JCrew, there are a handful of high street brands designing perfectly cute bridesmaid lines that a) won't cost a fortune and b) won't make your bridesmaids hate you. After the jump, six places to look.—Cambrey Thomas
J. Crew: Not just for anoraks and matchstick denim, the prep standby also puts out a solid bridal collection season after season. Outfit yourself, the groom, the groomsmen, the bridesmaids, and even the flower girl and ring bearer head to toe in the scrubbed-fresh, easy to wear again looks. If the one-stop shopping hasn't convinced you, maybe the sizes will—women's dresses are available in petites and through a size 20. They'll even throw in a wedding specialist to help you out.
Ann Taylor: With a sizable collection of wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and even a few cute flower girl frocks, Ann Taylor is the perfect stop for the bride in search of affordable classic style. They even offer wedding separates if you're felling DIY and want to mix and match bustiers and skirts. Prices start in the $140s and max out at $1,700.
Bhldn: If you are a fan of Anthropologie's twee vintage look, you'll love, Bhldn, which is owned by the same company. From bridal to bridesmaid, their dresses setting the right mood for your big day, whether you're going for "flamenco dancer gets married" or "50's society girl" ties the knot. Mother of the bride and flower girl styles are also available.
BCBG:BCBG is clutch for party dresses, and weddings are the ultimate party. So it makes perfect sense that the brand has expanded to include a bridal and bridesmaid collection as only they can. Studio 54 meets Hollywood glam meets part-til-dawn disco minis for the bridal party that isn't afraid to get down.
Target: Bargain hunters rejoice! Next time you're at Target to run errands you can tack "pick out bridesmaid dresses" to the list. Their bridal collection, Tevolio, is budget-friendly and all encompassing, as it features everything from a gown for you to the dresses for your BFFs to the tux for your beloved and wedding night lingerie.
Asos:Find posh, one-of-a-kind and vintage bridesmaid dresses on Asos.com. The prices run from affordable to less so, but there's an extensive selection and the very cool fact that you'll be getting a British gown flown in from across the pond.
