Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We now have a director: Sam Taylor-Johnson will adapt Fifty Shades Of Grey for the big screen, in case family movie night wasn't uncomfortable enough (recall bondage. Lots of bondage.). Yesterday's Daily Beast profile describes Taylor-Johnson as "a stunning British blonde," "a 46-year-old filmmaker (who looks about 20 years younger in person)" who gave birth at 44. And she battled breast cancer twice.

But in case the cancer part made you forget that she's steamy enough to steam the pants off any suburban mom out there, Beast notes that she dated and then married a man 24 years her junior (actor Aaron Johnson, who she met on the set of her directorial debut Nowhere Boy in 2009 when he was 18). You can see her husband's campaign shoot for Prada spring 2013 here, and their 2010 soft-core German Vogue couples shoot here. Can you handle all the sex?
