Today the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 to strike down the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, which denied federal benefits to lawfully wedded same-sex couples. The Wall Street Journal summarizes, "the Supreme Court for the first time said the federal government couldn't discriminate against same-sex couples if their marriage is recognized by a state." In other words, party time.
