Vittorio via WWD
Missoni released a statement today announcing that Vittorio Missoni's plane has been discovered north of Los Roques archipelago in the Caribbean, where it went missing six months ago (here's a map of the story). The search for the plane resumed just five days ago, spearheaded with the American oceanographic ship Deep Sea.
The small aircraft is currently in deep waters, and authorities have not yet determined how to excavate it to see if the bodies of Vittorio, his life partner Maurizia Castiglioni, his friends Guido Foresti and Elda Scalvenzi, or two crew members are inside. In the families joint statement, they thanked Italian and Venezuelan government for their "commitment in making this search possible" and the families "are confident that the investigation will follow through to the ascertainment of the causes and the responsibility for the accident."
