Not Forgotten Singers of the '00s Take the BET Red Carpet

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Some of you came of age in late '90s, early '00s, and if you did, this BET Awards red carpet was for you. Despite some glaring holes, childhood-ish favorites Ashanti, Eve, and Michelle Williams, Destiny's Child OG, were in attendance and both Ciara and Mariah Carey performed. Also, Lil' Mama, who's lipgloss is still poppin' but in a more refined way, was there. Enjoy the gallery above; We'll be listening to "Heartbreaker," "1,2 Step," "Goodies," "Foolish," "Survivor," and "My Lipstick is Poppin'" (always "My Lipstick is Poppin'") on repeat for the rest of the night.
