We're nearing the the release of the September issues, and, as expected, the cover-talk is gearing up. WWD, completely nonchalantly, has reported that Jennifer Lawrence will front US Vogue. The trade notes that Lawrence, "scored her first cover of Vogue, shot by Mario Testino. And all it took was winning an Academy Award."
If that's true, then it's a departure from Anna Wintour's habit of keeping her cover star under lock and key until the mag is ready for newsstands (Recall, Lady Gaga's cover last year wasn't released until she tweeted it on August 9). Regardless, after the jump check out all the future covers as reported by WWD, and look forward to the waning days summer, when we lug our 916-page fashion tome to the beach.
·Vogue: Jennifer Lawrence. The 22-year-old Oscar winner lands her first US Vogue cover this year. Think she'll be wearing a crazy Hunger Games getup, to promote the film's November release, or will she don Dior yet again?
·Elle: Kate Upton. The blonde bombshell nabs her third major cover this year, after her first US Vogue in June and the Antarctic Sports Illustrated.
·Glamour: Jennifer Aniston. Despite her run of mediocre films over the past several years, the numbers prove that the actress consistently sells well on the newsstands. Her next movie is We're The Millers, out August 7.
·Seventeen: Lily Collins. The doe-eyed daughter of British crooner Phil Collins stars next in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, coming to theaters August 21.
·Marie Claire: Zooey Deschanel. Another newsstand seller (she covered this mag's second-bestselling issue last year), Deschanel will likely be promoting her third season of New Girl on Fox.
·Cosmopolitan: Nina Dobrev. It looks like the Vampire Diaries actress will be showing us her sexy side this September.
·Lucky: Blake Lively. While Mrs. Ryan Reynolds hasn't had an acting project since wrapping Gossip Girl last year, her enviable style certainly makes her an obvious choice for this shopping mag.
·Allure: Jennifer Garner. Though these days we mostly see her in the pages of tabloids as a doting mom to her three kids with Ben Affleck, we'll see her next in Dallas Buyer's Club with Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto in December.
·T: The New York Times Style Magazine: Rooney Mara. The fashion darling and co-chair of this year's Met Gala previously covered Vogue's February issue.
·Town & Country: Lauren Bush Lauren & Claire Courtin-Clarins. These multi-named beauties take center stage for this magazine's philanthropy issue.
Notable publications missing from this list include W Magazine, Harper's Bazaar, and Vanity Fair. But it's nice to have a little mystery at the mailbox, no?—Laura Gurfein
