My skin is more sensitive than a Nicholas Sparks novel, so trying new beauty products always end up in a breakout-y mess. I've tried everything from the drugstore to department store in my search for the perfect powder, and the fact that I'm kinda picky—No animal testing! No parabens! No perfume! Must be vegan! And preferably made locally! Oh, and I also like vintage-inspired things!—makes it quite the challenge to find, well, anything.

One of my faves by far is an unexpected find at Unique LA a few years back: Bésame's Signature Compact. This soft, matte powder gives you that perfect vintage visage sans all the icky harsh chemicals, so you, too, can feel like a doomed silent film star facing a world of talkies. Bonus points for being small enough to fit in your pocket.
