All of Twitter and One Town Crier Announce the Royal Birth

Old traditions die hard.

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The fashion industry joined the rest of the world on Twitter today to greet Britain's new prince. Born at 4:24 pm London time, Kate and Will's son is healthy and presumably not connected to the internet, which means he is unaware of the countless well-wishes wrought upon him via hashtag #itsaboy. (Nearly an hour after Twitter dominated the news, a town crier exited the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's hospital to make the other official announcement. Please see above.)

Several years from now, when the prince is old enough to hack his parents' computer password, we thought it would be nice for him if he had an archive of the event—so we've rounded up the fashion's best #itsaboy tweets. Welcome to the 21st century, little royal baby!

Buzzfeed Fashion's Amy Odell really wanted a princess.

Or North. Or West, for that matter.

This one's for the haters. Preach, Elizabeth Holmes.

Paper magazine's Mickey Boardman, already matchmakign.

She speaks for every journalist who's been up all night liveblogging.

#FTW.
