CrossFit's Sara Carr Shows You The Proper Way to Do a Squat

New, 10 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Sara Carr is a coach at CrossFit NYC/The Black Box and a personal trainer to certified smoking-hot shoe designer Alejandro Ingelmo. Ingelmo, who detailed his regimen for Vogue a few months back, is serious about his fitness and works out five days a week. Here's a photo of him looking very ripped. Needless to say, Carr and the CrossFit team know how to whip you into fighting shape.

For our new "Workout Gurus" series, Carr demonstrates the proper technique for a squat and guess what, you've probably been doing it all wrong. Above, watch her walk through the move, step-by-step.
