Closing arguments in the J.C. Penney/Macy's/Martha Stewart lawsuit were heard yesterday. Though the outcome is anyone's guess — Judge Jeffrey Oing warned not to expect a decision for at least a fortnight, because he's going on vacation — Oing's preliminary rulings have seemed to go against Martha and Penney's, although he has allowed the chain to sell products designed by Stewart's company that have been stripped of any Martha Stewart branding. Macy's had an exclusive contract with Martha Stewart for a homewares line, and when J.C. Penney announced it intended to launch a new, lower-priced Martha collab, Macy's sued. [WWD]
