Katie Holmes says she will be showing her fashion line, Holmes & Yang, at New York fashion week again this season. "We'll probably do something smaller, like in the hotel as we did in February," the actress tells Women's Wear Daily. "We found that to be very effective. We've had great sell-throughs at Barneys. We're having a good time."
Holmes wasn't forthcoming with any other information about Holmes & Yang, which she co-founded with the stylist Jeanne Yang, but she did dish on her collaboration with Bobbi Brown. Last September, the brand announced Holmes would be its face, the first ads dropped this spring, and this fall they're launching something they're calling the Bobbi & Katie Collection of makeup, with skincare to follow.
"Bobbi is so creative and so smart," says Holmes of the legendary makeup artist. Brown, for her part, calls Holmes "ridiculously beautiful" and "a true partner." The Bobbi & Katie Collection includes an eyeshadow palette ($68), brushes ($65), two Pots Rouges, and an eye pencil. "I'm busy, Bobbi's busy," says Holmes. "I don't know a woman who isn't busy, and you need that quick fix. You need the natural colors like nudes. Nobody wants to look like they've been getting ready for hours. It's all about the effortless chic."
The two are going to begin work on a skincare line this fall. WWD reports that Holmes' research has involved talking to her sisters and mother about their product needs. "I'm always just listening. I feel like what I've learned recently about women is we are strong, but we like to be girly."
Holmes also says she's "interested" in launching a fragrance collection. After all, she's just about the only celebrity who doesn't already have one.
