Ohio State University is planning to name its new emergency department after Abercrombie & Fitch, which recall, is the brand that doesn't hire uggos and offends Swifties sometimes. When two mental images so at odds are smooshed together in the same head space, brains tend to go into "dad-joke" mode ("What kinda "emergency" is it going to treat? Ab-itis?," et cetera, ad ifinitum).
And yet the name was developed by the hospital to thank A&F for donating over $10 million to Ohio State University's medical center over recent years. Plus, the brand could use a little PR help, considering it's no longer for the cool kids. Also, just imagine the candy striping that could potentially go down. Just imagine.
