New York Fashion Week kicks off next week, and with it will come an onslaught of media and a deluge of photographs. It'll submerge blogs, it'll take Twitter and Instagram, and now, it's confirmed to sweep Pinterest. This morning, WWD reported on that the virtual pinboard has struck a deal with more than a 100 "influencers" to populate its hub, pinterest.com/fashionweek. Right now, those selected include Dannijo, Eva Chen, Elle, the CFDA, Diane von Furstenberg, Rebecca Minkoff, Phillip Lim, J.Crew, Into the Gloss and Style.com.
The hub will be up through fashion month, and more participants will be announced as the fashion crowd travels from New York to London to Milan to Paris. Pinterest's head of community marketing said it was kind of a no brainer: "We know we have millions of pinners that look to Pinterest for fashion inspiration and we know hundreds of brands, designers and insiders use it for the same purpose, and we wanted to help connect those two a little more," she said. "It's giving a highly engaging experience to our pinners who are excited about fashion." To pinners who just want to look at really beautiful rooms, cute animal photos or complicated dishes you'll never actually make—consider this your advance warning.
