Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards red carpet was just like those of the past: Less cray than the VMAs and less turnt up than the Oscars. But maybe it's because we have a relationship that goes on for months with the characters of our favorite shows that we really, really root for them to get it sartorially right in real life. How'd they do this year?

For the ladies, light shades from white to blush and the understated column dress was happening, but if you're a Girls star (minus Jemima) it's big color and bigger skirts for you. In other news the mermaid silhouette apparently has life in it yet. For the dudes, Kunal Nayyar of The Big Bang Theory, wearing Google Glass was as exciting as it gets. Gorge yourself on dresses below and let us know who hit and who missed in the comments.

Final note: Our sister site, Racked LA, has been Instagramming and Tweeting from the red carpet.
