Yesterday, we broke the news that Kelly Cutrone's pr firm, People's Revolution, had pulled out of a fashion show it had contracted to produce less than 24 hours before the show was scheduled. As you may recall, Cutrone had a staffer send a terse email to press explaining that they had cancelled their "participation" in the David Tlale show because they had not been paid.
This morning, WWD has quotes from both sides of the mess. Cutrone claimes that Tlale owes her $15,000, saying that she told Tlale, "if you don't honor your agreement, you're no longer in our care."
Tlale, for his part, said: "It's not about me not wanting to pay them. The payments were delayed from my side. They were going to be effective today, but she pulled the plug. She was not willing to wait. We were going to make the entire amount today." He also said he's learned a lesson from the experience, which is, "You have to learn how they work, to pay in advance." The show went on this morning at 9:30am.
