The Sartoralist's new AOL web series premiered yesterday. In the first two episodes, we follow blogger Scott Schuman to Milan, where he hangs with his favorite male subject Alessandro Squarzi, and Spain, where he shoots bullfighters and even gets in the ring. Want to know how Schuman monetizes his blog, how he strikes deals with big brands for ad campaigns, what he did before The Sartorialist, more about his relationship with fellow street style blogger Garance Doré? Well, he doesn't really go into any of that with this show. Instead, the focus seems to be on the men (and women, probably) that inspire him to pick up the camera.
In a conversation with GQ during AOL's upfronts, Schuman revealed that AOL didn't require the episodes to have a narrative arc or set parameters of any sort. "That freedom is totally up to me about what I want to talk about, where I want to go, how I want it to fit into my life," he said. If you're a superfan, you will find this fascinating; all others will be bored immediately. Watch the first episode after the jump, and catch more as they roll out right here.
