Fendi, not exactly a friend to the animals but certainly a friend to fur, has literally gone to new, weird lows to incorporate the material into its show. At the menswear show yesterday in Milan, the runway was made of fur, or as WWD explained it, "long-haired goat fur." Here's a graphic description of the spectacle courtesy of Financial Times writer Charlie Porter:
This time, the sheer fact of offering seating at the show makes it seem like Fendi cared more about its menswear. Or, to be specific, its fur. The catwalk contained so much goat that by the end it looked like a mucky pavement. I counted only eight looks with no fur, even if just simple trim (often a full coat).See below for the full wall of fur at the end of the runway, which frames Silvia Venturini Fendi in a goat glow, and try not to think about how the womenswear show will up the ante.
