Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Photogs spotted Miley Cyrus outside an LA recording studio with...a new hair style. Comparisons for the bowl-cut so far have included Moe Howard, a creative mix of Harry and Lloyd, and "my dad during the Depression." We'll add Leonardo DiCaprio in the '90s, Shawn from Boy Meets World without the cow-lick, and—just every boy in the '90s.

The source is probably something a more current, however, like her recent Marc Jacob ad, or simply an inspiration from his spring 2014 runway, which was replete with two-toned choppy weirdness.
