Buy all the bras you want here, but don't dare whip out a boob to breastfeed. That's the message that an Austin shopper said she received when she asked to use a Victoria's Secret fitting room to breastfeed her son after spending $150 in the store. According to MyFoxAustin, Ashley Clawson alleges that a Victoria's Secret employee at The Domain mall told her: "no, you cannot nurse your son in our fitting room but you can go outside to the alley and nurse him there, no one usually goes there."
A Victoria's Secret rep told MyFoxAustin:
"We take this issue very seriously. We have a longstanding policy permitting mothers to nurse their children in our stores and we are sorry that it was not followed in this case. We have apologized to Ms. Clawson, and we are taking actions to ensure all associates understand our policy that welcomes mothers to breastfeed in our stores."Texas law states that a mother is entitled to breastfeed her baby in any location in which the mother is authorized to be. Clawson vented her frustrations on Facebook, and filed two complaints with Victoria's Secret.
