FastCompany lists six reasons why Costco is so successful, beginning with the way that the store is designed (with a "panoramic view" of each shopping section or district), and continuing on to how its policies are beneficial not only to shoppers, but also to staff. "For its employees, a full-time hourly Costco worker with customary raises can make upward of $40,000 annually after three-to-four years," they detail. "With an average pay approaching twice the minimum wage, Costco also offers healthcare for upward of 90 percent of its employees. That results in one of the lowest turnover rates in the industry."
