Actress Zooey Deschanel is as known for her doe-eyed face and eyebrow-grazing bangs as she is for her love of girly vintage and retro-inspired clothing. So it's a little surprising that for her first major foray into the world of fashion, she's partnered up with a designer who became big thanks to his embrace of logos and sportswear. According to WWD, a casual encounter between Deschanel and Tommy Hilfiger at a mutual friend's house spurred a collaboration between the two. "She was wearing this vintage jumpsuit," he said. "I complimented her on it, and she told me how she loved vintage. Somehow, the conversation went from loving vintage to possibly doing a capsule collection with her."
Named To Tommy, From Zooey, it will consist of 16 Sixties-esque dresses priced between $98 and $199, 14 of which will debut at Macy's stores on April 14. A week later, the full collection will roll out to select Tommy stores and online at tommy.com.
