Man Poses as Apple Employee, Pranks Unassuming Shoppers

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Last week, a comedian in New York donned Apple Specialist garb—a blue shirt and khakis—and posed as the worst Apple employee ever at one of the company's stores. Tyler Fischer knew the ropes, as he had previously worked at four other Apple stores. In the video, above, Fischer proceeds to prank everyone he comes into contact with.

"You can email, Skype, send dick pics, Facebook, Gchat, do all of those things," he tells one nonplussed couple. He faux-scans another woman with his phone, telling her that from her "retina scan" he has learned that she has good credit. "This connects to all your info," he says while she freaks. From the amount of material in the video, Fischer was able to roam around the store for quite some time before being caught and presumably ejected. Enjoy.
