Topshop just announced that it's partnering up with Beyoncé on Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd., a joint venture company that will produce an athletic streetwear line that could start selling as early as Fall 2015. "This not a collaboration," Topshop owner Sir Philip Green told WWD. "This is about building a brand and building a business—a separate, proper business, with separate overhead and a separate office."
WWD reports that the idea stemmed from Topshop's need to get into the athleticwear market, and Beyoncé (and her bangs) seemed like a natural fit to help fill the void. The company has yet to determine a name for the line, put together a production and design team, and establish an office for the company, but that hasn't stopped them from making big plans. The collection will reportedly include clothing, footwear, and accessories that will fit in the dance, fitness and sports categories, "targeting women who go to yoga or the health club, as well as those who just want to look as if they do."
