Versace has big plans for Canada. The brand just opened up the first Versace Home flagship in the world in Vancouver, quenching Canadians' apparent insatiable thirst for $5,795 baroque comforters. There are three other Versace Home stores in the world, in Milan, Beirut and Dubai, but the Vancouver location is the only one that will carry the entire Versace Home collection.
This is just the beginning of Versace's Canadian invasion. According to Retail Insider, the company plans to open up to five new Versace locations in Canada within the next several years. It expects the stores to break even within the first year of operation and to start turning a profit within two years.
