André Leon Talley and Zappos Couture are going their separate ways. WWD reports that the company won't renew the former Vogue editor's one-year contract as Zappos Couture artistic director. The gig involved creating content for Zappos Couture, with the hope that Talley's presence would help draw in luxury shoppers. "Accomplishing such a feat is a tricky one, and rumor has it that the project was not driving sales," WWD writes.
Talley went out with a bang though, writing a Zappos Couture post this week anointing Kim, Kanye and North West fashion's first family. And it sounds like he has television in his sights as his next move. "My final post, on Zappos, on the subject of Kanye, Kim and North Kardashian has received great attention. Television programs contacted me to come on set and speak about my view that they, as a family, are new style icons," Talley told WWD.
