Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
The Dolce Vita showroom is not like most showrooms. For starters, it has a full bar (which they put to good use with regular parties), and you enter by walking through a hallway arched in ferns. Housed in the historic Puck Building in downtown NYC, the space is flooded with light streaming from huge loft windows and decorated with oriental rugs and massive leather couches—a far cry from the sterile, pristine environs most brands showcase their product in.
Truth be told, we'll take any reason to hang out at DV HQ—which feels more like your cool, arty cousin's incredible living room than a place where matters of footwear commerce take place—so when they invited us by to check out their fall and holiday shoes we jumped at the chance. Take a gander at pretty suede booties, ponyhair flats, and metallic party shoes from the main Dolce Vita line and their lower priced DV label, all set in their natural, handsome habitat.
