Whether you love or hate Birkenstocks, the ugly-chic sandal trend doesn't seem to be going away even though the temperature is dropping. With the addition of fuzzy shearling, they're now an all-weather shoe. Need proof? Over the weekend, Opening Ceremony Instagrammed a photo of shearling-lined Birkenstock sandals and clogs, along with furry platforms from Korean brand Low Classic. And Nordstrom is selling a winter edition of Birkenstock's super-popular Arizona two-strap sandal, lined with shearling.
Blame it on Celine, maybe? But cozy Birkenstock sandals could be a contender to Ugg in terms of sheer comfort. A reviewer at Nordstrom really sells 'em: "I know they look dorky but these shearling lined Birks are more comfortable than even the most comfortable pair of Birks you ever had in your whole life."
