Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It's official: Kate Middleton and Prince William will cross the Atlantic in the name of Life, Liberty, and Animal Charity. Much like thousands of normals, the monarchs will deplane in the land of the free and the brave for a three-day New York City visit this December. Unlike thousands of normals, the pair will be there to reveal their new anti-poaching organization United For Wildlife. The second coming of (future) King George is also a possibility, though not yet confirmed.

Hopefully, the royals will have time and the wherewithal to take advantage of the excellent New York shopping.
